South Georgia is coming to Dundee to celebrate whales, polar exploration and Scotland’s connection to this incredible island! Our exciting Whale of a Weekend festival will take place from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 June 2025 at Dundee Waterfront.
In partnership with Discovery Point and RRS Discovery, V&A Dundee, and Dundee City Council, South Georgia Heritage Trust will bring the waterfront to life: unveiling a stunning sculpture for its only UK appearance, interactive exhibitions about whaling, family-friendly activities, and fascinating talks from world-renowned explorers and scientists.
Whether you are mad about science, an art lover, fascinated by polar history, or just looking for a family day out, there’s something for everyone! All events are free with booking recommended for some events to ensure your place.
