• An SGHT monitoring team revisits the areas baited in 2013, led by Rob Webster, Deputy Director of the Habitat Restoration project. The team discovers no evidence of remaining rats or mice
• SGHT (through the generosity of Trustee Frederik Paulsen) sponsors the Scott Polar Research Institute’s digitisation of the slide collection of photographer, film-maker and writer Edwin Mickleborough. The 3500 original 35mm colour slides/photographs were taken during the South Georgia North Coast Expedition 1979- 80 and record the principal whaling stations of South Georgia and Deception Island and their environs.
• SGHT collaborates with Laurie Goodlad at the Shetland Museum to add the stories of ten Shetland ex-whalers to its oral history collection
• Dag Ingemar Børresen of the Sandefjord Whaling Museum is the museum’s first visiting curator. Dag visits in a professional advisory capacity based on an agreement between SGHT and the Vestfold Museum in Norway. While at South Georgia Dag installs an exhibition named ‘African Labourers in South Georgia’. He assesses the professionalism of the museum and writes a report praising the running of the museum at the end of his visit.
